Jeremy scores twice in win over Kings

January 24, 2015 – Lake Raiders vs. Kings (Boxscore)

Jeremy scores twice in 2 – 1 comeback victory over the Kings.

In the first period, David Donnelly gave the Kings the opening lead at 8:15 with his 16th goal of the season, assisted by Sharmin Alam who got her 15th point. Leo Xu was strong in net keeping the Lake Raiders off the scoreboard.

In the second period, it continued to be a defensive battle where the Lake Raiders were able to answer back with a goal from Jeremy at 3:48 to tie the game at 1 – 1, assisted by Eriin.

In the third period, the Lake Raiders broke the deadlock at 5:15 to give them an important 2 – 1 lead on Jeremy's 40th goal of the season. The Kings would give it all they got but were unable to find on equalizing goal. The win gave the Lake Raiders 14 points which was good for a second place tie in the race to the playoffs, while the Kings are five points back of the final playoff spot.

Jerry's Hattrick leads Bulldogs over Kings

January 17, 2015 – Bulldogs vs. Kings (Boxscore)

Jerry scores three goals in a 4 – 1 victory over the Kings.

In the first period, Sharmin Alam gave the Kings a quick start just one minute into the game for a 1 – 0 lead. Jerry Mariano would answer back for the Bulldogs at 11:49 to tie the game at 1, assisted by Christine Pacheco.

In the second period, the Bulldogs would start to take control of the game with Jerry Mariano scoring his second goal for a 2 – 1 lead at 2:09. They would extend the lead at 10:49 on Jerry's Hattrick goal that just beat Kings goalie Leo Xu, after receiving a great pass from the corner by Christine Pacheco.

In the third period, the Kings gave it their all to try and get another one on the board, but Meghan Hines would seal the win for the Bulldogs with her goal at 6:25 assisted by Jerry Mariano.

Isaac leads Kings over Wolves

The Kings doubled up the Wolves 6 – 3 avenging an earlier defeat in the season.

In the first period, Saverio Romano gave the Wolves an early 1 – 0 lead. The Kings would answer back at 8:45 on a goal from Isaac to tie the game. However two minutes later at 10:45 the Wolves would take the lead again 2 – 1 on a beautiful shot from Saverio Romano assisted by Mitchell Stark.The Kings Isaac once again tied the game in the dying seconds to end the frame.

In the second period, the Kings took their first lead of the game 3 – 2 on a goal from substitute player Jeremy who was left in front of the Wolves net for the easy tap in, after a deflection off a defenseman. Before the end of the frame the Wolves would tie the game at 3 from Saverio Romano's hat trick goal assisted by Mitchell Stark.

In the third period, Jeremy deked out the Wolves defense and scored on the backhand to give the Kings a 4 – 3 lead. Four minutes later he would once again score on a high looping shot for a two-goal 8dvantage. Isaac rounded out the scoring with his hat trick goal. The Kings goalie Leo Xu was great in helping his team to close out the game, and the defense played solid as well.

The TPWHL season will resume in the new year on January 17.

Saints snaps the Kings three-game winning streak

The Saints win 4 – 3 snapping the Kings three-game winning streak.

In the first period, it was all Saints where Brandy Edwards scored three goals to help her team lead 3 – 0.

In the second period, the Saints would extend the lead to 4 – 0 at 7:15 on a goal from substitute player Roberto Monteiro assisted by Brandy Edwards. However starting 13 seconds later the Kings picked up their game and scored 3 straight goals to cut the lead to 4 – 3. Two of the goals were scored by Isaac, Sharmin Alam would add a goal and an assist, and David Donnelly contributed with three assists.

In the third period, the Kings had a lot of great chances to tie the game including on the power-play with Saints Brandy Edwards in the penalty box for dangerous driving at 9:50. But the Kings was turned aside by Tracey Taylor who had a solid effort in net, and also great defensive plays from the team to preserve the win.

Kings seek and get revenge.


December 6, 2014 – Kings vs. Mustangs (Boxscore)


The Kings took to the floor against the Mustangs on Saturday hoping to avenge their loss from the last time these two teams took the floor.

The Kings would open the scoring with a goal from David Donnelly.  With Mike Iacovone answering back from the Mustangs at the 2:05 minute mark, on a great pass from Nicole Neeson. The Kings would score 3 more goals with two from David Donnelly and a goal and two assists from Isaac for a 4 – 1 lead after the first period.

The Kings Isaac scored the lone goal at 12:29 in the second period, assisted by Sharmin Alam.

It was a scoreless third period. Brad Gordon put on an excellent effort in net for the Mustangs who just could not keep up with the mighty Kings.  Falling victim to them in a 5 – 1 loss.

Kings overwelm penalty plagued Lake Raiders



November 29, 2014 – Kings vs. Lake Raiders (Boxscore)

In this match up between the upgraded Kings and Lake Raiders, it was the Lake Raiders who drew first blood on a Jeremy Schofield solo effort with the Kings shorthanded at 3:37. 7:47 saw the Lake Raiders build on their lead off a Jeremy Schofield (unassisted) line drive for a 2-0 lead. the Kings responded at 9:17 on a David Donnelly (unassisted) goal closing out the first period.

In the second frame the Kings tied things up early on a Issaac Vescio (David Donnelly) goal at 3:37. the Kings added another on a Sharmin Alam (unassisted) goal at 5:24. With the Lake Raiders serving a crease violation minor, Jeremy Schofield deaked out the King's D and buried a shorthanded goal for a 3-3 tie at the end of thirty minutes of play.

Third period action started very early as the Lake Raider's Jeremy Schofield (unassisted) regained the lead at 0:15, then with the Lake Raiders once again shorthanded (the second of three times in the third period) the King's Issaac Vescio (Sharmin Alam, David Donnelly) scored on a mad flury in front of the Lake Raiders net pulling things even at 4-4. 10:14 saw the Lake Raiders capitalize on the power play with Jeremy Schofield (unassisted) scoring his fifth of the game. From then on the Kings dominated with three unanswered goals from Sharmin Alam (David Donnelly) at 11:06, Issaac Vescio (Sharmin Alam, David Donnelly) at 13:00 and a power play marker to seal the deal and the 7-5 win by David Donnelly (Sharmin Alam) at 14:53.

New look Kings gets first win of season

November 22, 2014 – Kings vs. Bulldogs (Boxscore)

The new look Kings won their first game of the season 6 – 2, breaking the Bulldogs winning streak.

In the first period, Jerry Mariano got the Bulldogs off to an early lead, assisted by Christine Pacheco who worked hard in front of the Kings net. However Isaac would answer for the Kings two minutes later to tie the game at one goal a piece. The goal was assisted by newly acquired David Donnelly who they got in a trade.

In the second period, the Kings started taking control of the game scoring two goals to take a 3 – 1 lead. David Donnelly would score his first goal as a king, and also assist on Sharmin Alam's goal.

In the third period, the Kings want continue their dominance with three more goals. Two were scored by Sharmin Alam assisted by Isaac, and David Donnelly would add one more. Jerry Mariano would score another for the Bulldogs assisted by Meghan Hines, but it would be too little too late.

Wolves get by a scrappy Kings team

November 15, 2014 – Wolves vs. Kings (Boxscore)

In a game where both teams were hungry for a win, the Wolves would come out with a 6 – 4 score against the Kings.

In the first period, the Wolves came out taking charge with tons of traffic in front of the Kings net but they would weather the storm. Until the eight minute mark where Matt Vocino would direct the Saverio Romano shot for his first goal of the season for the 1 – 0 Wolves lead. They would continue their offensive outburst with three goals from Saverio Romano including one on the power-play, and an assist from Gabe for the 4 – 0 lead after one period.

In the second period, it would be a different story for the Kings who answered with three goals of their own to cut the lead to 4 – 3. Two were scored by substitute player David Donnelly, and one from rookie Elyas Abdullah who scored his first career TPWHL goal when he banked a shot off the back of the Wolves goalie Torrance Ho and into the net. Isaac would add an assist on one of the goals.

In the third period, it would be end to end action with the Wolves Saverio Romano scoring to extend the lead to 5 – 3 for his team at 5:13. However David Donnelly would once again help the Kings pull within one five minutes later, roofing a shot under the crossbar for an exciting ending. The Wolves would eventually score a goal from Saverio Romano assisted by Matt Vocino late in the game to seal the victory.

Kings come back falls short in Saints Win

November 8, 2014 – Saints vs. Kings (Boxscore)

In a close game, the Kings nearly comes back in a 3 – 2 loss to the Saints.

In the first, Braden Martz would score a lone goal for the Saints to lead 1 – 0 on his first goal of the season.

In the second, Brandy would help the Saints extend the lead to 3 – 0 with two goals, assisted by Matthew Cockburn and Braden Martz.

In the third, there was no quit in the Kings where they would start a comeback at 7:49 on a goal from Sharmin Alam, who was making her season debut. They would add another to make the game 3 – 2 at 12:10 on a tip in goal from Bill Rankin, assisted by Sharmin Alam. But that would be as close that they would get on a great effort.

Goalies Leo Xu and Tracey Taylor was solid in net as always.

Mustangs edges Kings in a battle of winless teams

November 1, 2014 – Mustangs vs. Kings (Boxscore)

In a game between two winless teams, the Mustangs would edge the Kings 2 – 1 in a close battle.

In the first period, the Kings would open the scoring on the goal from substitute player David Donnelly to lead 1 – 0. On the goal David Donnelly was left open in front of the Mustangs net.

In the second period, Mike Iacovone would help the Mustangs tie the game at 1 – 1, assisted by Nicole Neeson at 12:03.

In the third period, with the game still tied the Mustangs Nicole Neeson would give her team their first lead and the eventual game-winning goal at 5:03. She would nearly score another goal but was turned aside from an amazing save by Kings goalie Leo Xu.

The Mustangs Brad Gordon was solid in net in his first game of the season.

Young Kings look strong in loss to Lake Raiders


October 25, 2014 – Lake Raiders vs. Kings (Boxscore)

In their first meeting of the young season, the overhauled Kings team came to play against the Lake Raiders, jumping ahead at 2:05 on a Issaac Vescio (unassisted) quick release beating the Lake Raiders veteran net minder for the first periods lone goal.

The second frame saw the Lake Raiders draw even early at 0:35 on a Jeremy Schofield's (Erin Vassilakos) shot. both sides exchanged excellent chances, with the Kings killing two in the crease penalties the score remained at ones. At 12:07 the Lake Raiders  broke the tie on a Jeremy Schofield solo effort, adding another at 14:30 to take a 3-1 lead into the third period.

The Lake Raiders kept on coming on a Jeremy Schofield (unassisted/fourth of the game) slap shot past Kings Goalie Leo Xu at 4:35 capitalizing on the man advantage. then with just under 5 minutes left Sniper Issaac Vescio (unassisted) put away a juicy rebound, ending the game 4-2 Lake Raiders.

Bulldogs Win Opening Game Over Kings

In the opening game of the 2014 TPWHL season, the Bulldogs won 3 – 1 over the kings.

In the first period, the Bulldogs got off to a quick start with a goal from Jerry Mariano 24 seconds into the game. Jerry would score his second to give his team a 2 – 0 lead at the 7:35 mark.

In the second period, Bill Rankin got the Kings on the board with a scrambled in front of the Bulldogs net for his first of the season to cut the lead to 2 – 1. However two minutes later Jerry Mariano completed his first hat trick of season and restored the Bulldogs two goal lead going into the third.

It was a scoreless third.

The Bulldogs Meghan Hines played a strong game creating tons of chances for her team and Mohit Sharma had a solid debut in goal. It was also Abdullah siblings, Aziza and Elyas, first game together for the Kings.

TPWHL Playoffs semifinal: Bulldogs advanced to the finals with game 2 victory

In game two of the semifinal, The Bulldogs come from behind to win 3 – 2 over the Kings and sweep the series 2 games to 0.

In the first, Lorne opened the scoring for the Bulldogs from a great pass from Jerry to lead 1 – 0 at 7:23. Kings goalie Leo made a few great saves to keep the game a one goal game.

In the second, the Kings who needed a win took their game up a notch and battled for two goals to take the lead. The first goal was scored by Jordan who poked in a loose ball pass the goalie Eli to tie the game, assisted by Kirk at 5:55. For the second one, with Jerry in the penalty box Kirk gave the Kings their first lead of the game on the power play, assisted by Isaac at 13:40.

In the third, in an intense game the Bulldogs tied the game at 2 – 2 on a goal from Jerry assisted by a beautiful pass from Meghan at 7:24. Three minutes later Lorne scored his second goal of the game to give the Bulldogs the lead on a shot that just got by the goalie.

The Bulldogs will now face the wolves in the finals, Game one starts this Saturday, April 12 at 1 PM.

TPWHL Playoffs semifinal: Bulldogs upset Kings in game 1

In Game 1 of the semifinals, the #4 Bulldogs upset the #1 Kings in a close 2 – 1 win for the 1 – 0 series lead.

In the first, with the Bulldogs Jerry in the penalty box for boarding, the Kings opened the scoring on the power play with Kirk's first goal of the playoffs assisted by Bill at 14:35 for the 1 – 0 lead.

In the second, Jerry replied for the Bulldogs on a shot that eluded Kings goaltender Leo to tie the game at 1, assisted by Meghan at 14:35.

In the third, with a mad scramble in front of the Kings net Jerry was able to get to the loose puck and score to give the Bulldogs their first lead of the game at 6:55. The goal was assisted by Meghan and Lorne. The Kings tried their hardest to tie the game, but the Bulldogs defensive game and great goaltending from Eli shut them down. Otherwise it was a close and intense playoff game for both teams.

Game 2 goes this Saturday, April 5 at 2 PM as the Kings look to tie the series and force a final game 3.

Kings finish first in regular season

March 22, 2014 – Kings versus wolves (boxscore)

With both The Kings and wolves having already clinched a playoff spot, the only thing left to decide was who would be first for the entire playoffs. In the end the Kings routed the wolves 6 – 1.

In the first, the Kings got off to a fast start with two goals from Kirk and one assist from Jordan. The wolves tried to get on the board but Leo made some incredible stops to keep the score 2 – 0 for the Kings.

In the second, it was much of the same for Leo who was sharp once again. Jordan would score the lone goal for the Kings, where he scored from the side of the net.

In the third, the Kings added three more goals, two from Kirk for the hat trick, one goal and one assist from Isaac, and one assist from Jordan. The wolves finally scored in the last minute to spoil the shutout on a goal from saverio assisted by Darrin, but it was too little too late.

In the end it was a exciting race for first between these two teams, however the real competition begins in the playoffs starting this coming Saturday! Click here for Game one playoffs details. Good luck to all 4 teams in the playoffs!

Round 1 of the TPWHL 2014 playoffs start Saturday March 29th!


Nothing planned this weekend? why not come on out to Sunnyview school 450 Blythwood Road. (Bayview Ave. & Eglington Ave. East) and feel the intensity as these four teams of talented, athletes roll into battle! 

First up its the Number 1 Kings facing off against The mighty Bulldogs who edged
out the Saint's to advance to the post season! Game time 12:30pm...

Next up is the 2nd place Wolves, going head to head with the 3rd place Lake Raiders!

Isaac scores twice in win over Bulldogs

February 22, 2014 – Kings vs Bulldogs (boxscore)


In a tight game, the Kings win 3 –1 over the Bulldogs.

In the first period, Isaac opened the scoring for the Kings 3 minutes into the game off the rebound from Kirk's shots. Lorne tied the game 1–1 for the Bulldogs at 11:23. However Isaac gave the Kings the lead again 15 seconds later, where he banked a shot off the goalie Eli and just into the net assisted by Kirk.

It was a scoreless second period, in which a defensive battle occurred.

In the third period, it was much of the same but Kirk was able to score the only goal for the Kings with his third point of the night. Assisted by a beautiful pass from Jordan. Leo was solid in goal once again.

Wolves moves into first with win over the Kings

February 15, 2014 – Wolves vs Kings (boxscore)


With both teams coming in tied for first place, it was a big game. In the end the Wolves came out with the 5-3 win in a playoff like game.

In the first period, Saverio opened the scoring for the Wolves off a great shot. Sharmin extended the lead to 2-0 three minutes later. However, the Kings answered with a goal from Issac off a rebound to cut the lead in half. Saverio once again gave the Wolves a two goal lead late in the period, assisted from a great pass from Darrin.

In the second period, the Kings got their second goal from Kirk that beat the goalie bottom left corner. Saverio responded with his third goal of the game for the 4-2 lead. Jordan scored the third Kings goal to pull within one going into the third.

In the third period, the Kings threw everything at the Wolves net even a wheelchair that drove the goalie Torrance into the net but were turned aside with the help of great defence, Saverio sealed the victory late in the period.

Kings edge Saints to stay on top

February 8th, 2014 – Saints vs Kings (boxscore)
In a close game the Kings edge the Saints 3-2 to stay on top of the standings.

In the first period, the Kings Kirk opened the scoring however the Saints answered to tie the game on a goal from Don.

In the second period, it was much of the same with Kirk scoring his second goal of the game to give the Kings the 2-1 lead. Once again, Don's great shot tied the game for the Saints.

In the third period, the Kings scored late in the period on a goal from Issac that won the game. On the goal Jordan made a great pass. Both goalies Tracey and Leo played a great game.

Kings check Lake Raiders

Saturday Jan 25th 2014 2:30pm -3:30pm. After the Lake Raiders handed the Kings their first loss of the season on Nov. 30th it was payback time. The action started early as the Kings struck first on a lone goal by Kirk Ashman at 1:19. both sides played hard but the Kings broke out a 2-0 lead on another Kirk Ashman (Jordan Lavoie) goal at 11:39. The second frame saw much of the same as Kirk Ashman (Jordan Lavoie) netted his third for the hat trick at 7:45. At 8:53 the Lake Raiders got on the board when a Jeremy Schofield snap shot beat Kings net minder Leo Xu for a 3-1 score. 8:53 saw Lake Raider Erin Vassilakos (Jeremy Schofield) score her 13th on the season seeing the Lake Raiders claw back within 1 to end the second. Any hopes of a Lake Raiders comeback were dashed as Jordan Lavoie (Kirk Ashman) pounced on a juicy rebound giving the Kings a 4-2 lead. just over 6 minutes
later a Kirk Ashman solo effort sealed the deal for the 5-2 final.
