2014 Year in Review, Looking forward to 2015 and the ParaPan Games

Wow, I can't believe another year has come and gone! Our blogging team has grown to 7 people, which includes myself, Donald, Neil, and new members Alexis, Julie, Nicole, and RV. Thanks to the team we have written 157 articles (including our Sports, Technology, Travel, and Work blogs) and there has been 19,500 more page views than last year.

Here are our reflections of 2014 successes:
Here are some of our favorite articles:
  1. Road trip to the USA! Accessibility travel!
  2. The 2014 PowerHockey Cup.
  3. The always enjoyable articles written by Donald Barrie, which includes the 2014 Sochi Paralympics coverage.
  4. VAT (Voter Assist Terminal) article from TechnologyEnables.Me.
  5. Windreach Farm and My Adventure in Whitehorse article from TravelEnables.Me.
In 2015 we are looking forward to:
  • Writing about the 2015 ParaPan Games in Toronto, Ontario happening between August 7th to the 15th!
  • Covering a wide variety of stories, experiences and events related to accessibility.
  • Continue to grow our team of writers.
I would like to wish all of you a healthy and successful 2015!

2013 Year in Review, Toronto Power Outage & Happy 2014!

I hope all of you have survived the 2013 Toronto Power Outage and now have power. I spent four days stuck at home without power but thankfully had a gas stove, enough blankets, a friends cat and family around to keep me warm.

It's almost been in a year since SportsEnables.Me started, here are my reflections of the successes:
In the 2014 new year we hope:
  • Cover a variety of accessible sports, especially around the 2015 Toronto Para-Pan
  • Bring you more coverage of Power Hockey locally
  • Grow our team of writers
I would like to wish all of you a successful new year!

Challenged By My Brother

My brother has always pushed me to be better, even though I have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy(DMD) a condition which involves muscle weakness. DMD has not slowed me down, participating in sports has helped.

My Dream job is to become a professional sports personnel, either working with the Toronto Blue Jays or with teams under MLSE. Or maybe Sports broadcasting with TSN or Sportsnet. I don't know how I'll get there, but the reason for starting my blog is to document that journey.

Goals of the blog:
- Promote Power wheelchair Hockey & other disabled sports.
- Express myself more.
- Improve writing skills.
- Stop being lazy!

My goal is to post something once a week, whoever is reading this I want you to hold me accountable.
